Introduction
Welcome to Make Me A Game (“Make Me A Game,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our websites and online storefronts (including our Shopify store), our mobile games, the purchase and fulfilment of customised in-game characters, and any associated redemption codes, features, content, and services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, purchasing a customized character, or redeeming a code in one of our games, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Services may be accessed or distributed through third-party platforms (e.g., the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Shopify). Your use of those platforms is also subject to their terms and policies.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Services only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms and revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after the changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Eligibility & Accounts
Age & consent
Only individuals 18+ may purchase. Children under 18 may use a redeemed character under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepted these Terms.
Codes & redemption
Customised characters are unlocked via single-use codes (“Codes”). Unless we say otherwise, Codes: (a) are valid only for the specified game title; (b) may become bound to the first device or in-game profile that redeems them; (c) are non-transferable once redeemed; and (d) have no cash value. Keep Codes secure; we aren’t responsible for lost or shared Codes.
Gifting
Unredeemed Codes may be gifted within the UK. Once a Code is redeemed, the associated character is personal to the redeemer and cannot be transferred.
Accuracy of information
The Purchaser must provide accurate information (including the Child’s first name or nickname). We may reject or edit submissions that are false, misleading, or breach our content rules.
Compliance & suspension
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access—or invalidate a Code—if we reasonably believe there is a breach of these Terms, fraud/chargeback, unlawful content, or risk to other users or the Services. Where lawful, we will provide a brief explanation and how to contact us.
Your UK consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. See “Refunds, Cancellations & Chargebacks” for details specific to digital content.
Ownership & Licenses
Our IP
The Services, games, code, artwork, characters, designs, and trademarks are owned by Make Me A Game or our licensors. They are protected by law. We’re licensing them to you—we’re not selling them.
Your submissions (names)
The Purchaser confirms they have the right to provide the Child’s first name or a nickname. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and adapt that name only as needed to create the customised character and run the Services.
Your licence to use the character
When a Code is redeemed, we grant the redeemer a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the unlocked character inside our supported game(s) on compatible devices, for non-commercial use. No ownership in the character or any game content transfers to you.
Restrictions
You must not sell or resell Codes or redeemed characters, extract or export game assets, reverse-engineer our games, use the character outside our games, or use it for commercial purposes (including ads, endorsements, NFTs, or merchandise) without our written permission.
Feedback
If you send ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
Third-party rights
Don’t submit names that are illegal, offensive, or infringe others’ rights (e.g., someone else’s full name or a protected brand). App Store/Google Play content and marks are owned by their respective owners.
Reservation of rights
Except for the limited licences above, all rights are reserved by Make Me A Game and our licensors.
Delivery & Availability
How we deliver
After payment is authorised, we issue a single-use redemption code (“Code”) to the Purchaser via email (and/or your storefront account, if applicable).
Timing
Delivery is usually quick, but please allow up to 72 hours for processing and delivery. Orders may take the full window during busy periods, manual reviews, bank/payment checks, or maintenance.
If you haven’t received your Code
Check spam/junk and verify your email address. If it’s been 72 hours and there’s still no Code, contact support and include your order number—we’ll sort it.
Email accuracy
You’re responsible for providing a correct, accessible email address. We aren’t liable for delays caused by typos or mailbox issues, but we’ll help where we can.
Where Codes work
Codes unlock the specified customised character in our supported game(s) on iOS or Android. A compatible device, OS version, and internet access are required.
Platform dependencies
Downloading/playing the game depends on third-party platforms (Apple App Store and Google Play). Their outages, removals, or policy changes are outside our control.
Updates & maintenance
We may update the game or Services, or run maintenance. During these times, redemption or gameplay may be temporarily unavailable.
Sunsetting & changes
We may change or discontinue features or game titles. Where a material change affects redeemed content, we’ll take reasonable steps to notify you and offer a fair approach consistent with our Refunds, Cancellations & Chargebacks section and UK consumer law.
Refunds & Cancellations
Personalised digital content
By asking us to start fulfilment, you agree the 14-day cancellation right does not apply once we begin processing or deliver the Code (your statutory rights for faulty content remain).
Cancel before we start.
If you contact us before processing begins, we’ll cancel and refund.
We’ll refund or replace if:

No delivery within 72 hours of payment (and you contact us).

Defective Code that we can’t fix with a replacement.

Duplicate order/charge.

Name rejected under our content rules and you don’t want to provide an alternative.
No refunds if:

The Code was redeemed or the character used in-game.

Issues are due to App Store/Google Play/device factors outside our control.

The email was entered incorrectly and the Code was sent there.

Change of mind after processing starts.

Resale/sharing/fraud is suspected.
How to request: Email hello@makemeagame.com with order number and details. Approved refunds go to the original payment method.
Chargebacks: We may suspend or invalidate related Codes. Please contact us first so we can resolve issues quickly.
Third Party Platforms
Where you get things
You purchase from our Shopify storefront; our mobile games are distributed via the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Their terms apply too
Your use of Apple, Google, and Shopify is subject to their own terms, policies, and privacy notices. Those platforms are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for our Services.
Availability & outages
Downloading, updating, or playing our games may be affected by platform outages, removals, regional rules, device/OS compatibility, parental controls, or account bans. These are outside our control.
Accounts & compliance
You must maintain any required Apple/Google/Shopify accounts in good standing and comply with their rules (including age ratings, content, and acceptable use).
Payments
Purchases made on our Shopify store are processed by Shopify/its payment providers under their terms. If a purchase is ever made within a platform (e.g., in-app), that transaction is governed by the platform’s payment terms.
Data sharing
We may receive limited information from platforms (e.g., device/OS, install status) to operate and support the Services. Your platform data is otherwise handled under the platform’s privacy policy.
Support boundaries
We support our games, Codes, and customised characters. Platform account issues, payment disputes on the platform, or device problems must be handled with Apple, Google, your device maker, or your payment provider.
No endorsement
Apple, Google, and Shopify are trademarks of their respective owners and do not sponsor or endorse the Services.
Acceptable Use
To keep everyone safe and the Service running smoothly, you agree not to:

Break the law or others’ rights. No illegal activity, infringement, defamation, harassment, doxxing, or privacy violations.

Submit harmful or inappropriate names. Don’t submit names (or nicknames) that are: offensive, hateful, pornographic, sexualised (especially involving minors), promoting self-harm or violence, discriminatory, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful.

Avoid personal data. Do not include surnames, full names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, social handles, URLs, or other identifiers in the Child’s name field. We only accept a first name or nickname.

Use third-party IP or personas. No brand names, celebrity names, or content you don’t have rights to use.

Cheat or interfere. No bots, exploits, unauthorised automation, scraping, data-mining, load testing, or attempts to bypass rate limits, regional/device restrictions, or security features.

Reverse engineer or extract. Don’t decompile, modify, or attempt to extract game assets or code.

Malware or security abuse. No viruses, malware, or attempts to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts, or data.

Resale or unauthorised commercial use. Don’t sell or resell Codes or redeemed characters, or use them for ads, endorsements, NFTs, or merchandise without our written permission.

Circumvent suspensions. Don’t create new accounts or use new devices to evade enforcement.
Our enforcement
We may refuse, edit, or remove submitted names; delay or invalidate Codes; suspend access; or terminate use where we reasonably believe these Terms are breached or there is fraud, chargeback, or risk to users. Where lawful, we’ll explain the reason and how to contact us. Repeat or serious violations may be reported to the relevant authorities.

If you see something unsafe or inappropriate, contact hello@makemeagame.com with details (order number, screenshots). We’ll review and act where appropriate.

Updates & Changes to the Services
12-month availability commitment
We will use reasonable efforts to keep the game and redemption services needed to download, redeem, and use your purchased customised character available for at least 12 months from the purchase date. This isn’t a guarantee of uninterrupted service and doesn’t apply where availability is affected by factors outside our control (e.g., App Store/Google Play removals, device/OS changes, platform/account bans, outages, or force majeure).
If we can’t meet this
Where the shortfall is within our control, we’ll offer a fair remedy consistent with UK consumer law and our Refunds, Cancellations & Chargebacks section (for example, a replacement code for an alternative title or a refund).
Updates & maintenance
We may update the game or Services and run maintenance windows; temporary unavailability may occur.
Sunsetting
If we discontinue a game or major feature, we’ll give reasonable notice (e.g., 30 days) where practicable and take reasonable steps to preserve access or provide an appropriate remedy.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Governing law
These Terms and any dispute or claim (contractual or non-contractual) are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Informal resolution first
Most issues can be fixed quickly. Please contact hello@makemeagame.com with your order number and details; we’ll aim to respond and work with you to resolve the matter.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a UK consumer.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our Services, law, or platform rules.
We’ll post the updated Terms with a “Last updated” date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we’ll give reasonable notice (e.g., website or in-app notice and/or email if you’ve provided one) before it takes effect, unless the change is required sooner for legal or security reasons.
Your continued use or purchase after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree, stop using the Services.
For purchases made before a material change, we’ll handle any concerns fairly and in line with UK law and our Refunds, Cancellations & Chargebacks section (e.g., options for unredeemed Codes).
